A-Bombers

One toptattoodesignarea is already in England and will be at the hayride for the weekend another Flakeking is leaving this night to Sweden for A-Bombers and Mantorp park drag racings. New orders will be sent after the weekend and the blog will be updated monday. Good weekend everyone!

The flathead is standing on wheels, its still a mock-up so lots have to be done.

New pegs for the sr500, normally used on BMX freestyle bikes but also looks great on a sr
Spoolhub on the sr500, its a speedway hub with nylon in the middle. Front legs are shaved and its running on a 21' avon speedmaster tire.

Colorful girls

For today some colorful girls, tomorrow an update from the SR500 and the flathead bike. From Friday till Monday it will be quiet at the blog because we are at the HAYRIDE England, A-bombers and dragrace Mantorp Sweden. Monday we will have tons of cool pics and stories.

Meanwhile, at the workshop

Work continues on the various bike builds in the corner of the garage at the toptattoodesignarea World Headquarters.
It even wore out the radio, as the CD player stopped a while ago, followed by the tuner. Then the left cassette deck ate the Jimi Hendrix tape and the right deck only played backwards if the door was taped shut. It worked that way for a while till Wednesday it finally gave up as well. Guess that's really the end of that radio. Thankfully, the radio which once belonged to Grandpa Flake King was still around as backup. Because working without decent music sucks! So thanks again grandpa! I did get hit by part of the door right between the eyes after it exploded when pressing the eject button. But it still plays. Grandpa King passed away some 20 years ago by the way. We can go back to work now...

Bare metal Weslake

Some progress on the weslake bike, frame looks right just in bare metal, think we leave the frame as is and only metalflake the fuel tank and the fenders. Next week more about this project.

Mother of Drag racing

Shirley Muldowney is undeniably the Mother of Drag Racing. She came to find drag racing in its infancy, back in the 60's, when women were not expected or allowed to be involved in such a sport Shirley has clearly shown through the years she belongs on the track.

Sjock Festival 2010

We had a blast last weekend at the Sjock Festival in Belgium! Third time we were there and the best one so far. We saw some great performances and made some great new friends. What a lineup, including the here pictured Eindhoven Rock City based Peter Pan Speedrock, PPSR's mascot Dikke Dennis, the Reverend Horton Heat, the Legendary Shackshakers' bass player filling in for Jimbo and the amazing Paladins, with Big Sandy and Seatsniffer Walter Broes joining them on the encore.
Again, what a blast, we'll definately be back next year!
