What about ice speedway.

The motorsport was invented in Sweden, long studs on a left curved oval track. They say this sport started way back in 1920 on the Swedish lakes, what’s really true, can’t say ? What we do know is that in 1933 the well known rider-style came, dragging your knee in the curves, as an idea of speedway champion Torsten Sjoberg (from Hallstavik, Sweden). He rode a low frame with a Douglas-engine, first with short studs but later with his own made long studs riding down on an extreme angle - modern speedway was born. If you never have seen ice speedway you should ! (if you have the opportunity). You will be amazed how fast it goes! Lots of respect to ice speedway riders.

Sideburn

Sideburn has nothing to do with the facial hair abundantly present on one, and remarkably absent on another, of the toptattoodesignarea. It is however something worth checking out: Sideburn Magazine

Atmosphere

While re-routing some electricity wiring for the new spray-booth we made one cut too many this evening. Most lights went down in the toptattoodesignarea garage making instant atmosphere for some nice pics. The Jawa Speedway bike still looks good from any angle, and while this late 60's bike remains untouched until now, the Weslake Speedwayer is ready and waiting for final paint, still struggling on the perfect color combination though...keep checking back !

Spoolhub on the sr500, its a speedway hub with nylon in the middle. Front legs are shaved and its running on a 21' avon speedmaster tire.

Bare metal Weslake

Some progress on the weslake bike, frame looks right just in bare metal, think we leave the frame as is and only metalflake the fuel tank and the fenders. Next week more about this project.

ready for paint

The frame for the Weslake powered bike is almost ready for paint.
Don't you just love the look of that solder after having blasted off the old paintjob!
This will be the project most likely to be finished first, and it will rule!
